So the weather is pretty sketchy here, and that means it is time to head back into the studio and start recording the NEXT DB ALBUM! It doesn’t have a name yet, but 3 tracks are mostly written, and another 4 are cooking up nice and crispy. The process is going pretty fast this time, so we will likely release in late Spring, and support the new disc this Summer. A few of you may have heard one of the demo mixes, and for those who haven’t, we will post one here pretty soon.
We hope to see you during concert season, and hope your New Year is going well so far.
Bless,
DB

We felt it would be appropriate at this time to announce that Mark Sousa, formerly of Machinegun Symphony has joined the DB lineup as our live keyboardist. We are very happy to have him!

Hey kids,
We are sorry to report that due to inclement weather, the show tonight at Cervantes’ in Denver is canceled. Combichrist is snowed in, and Gen-XX had to fly into DIA today and Seattle tomorrow, so needless to say that is not going to happen. We are sorry, we truly were prepared to have the show go on, but it just isn’t feasible.
We will see you all in the Spring…with new songs and a new live lineup.

We are excited to announce that we have added a new live musician to the DB line-up. Jason “Ayrs” Ayres, a veteran of the alternate rock and Industrial scenes, joined the cadre for the first time at a Denver gig in September, where friends and fans got to see him don his uniform tie and rock out with DB for the first time! We are all very stoked to have Ayrs playing with us, we think fans will find his finger-work adds a certain depth to the tracks when played live, and a great energy to the show as well.

What an intense night! After several hours of building out the stage and setting up the awesome light rig provided by the redoubtable Mark Passmore, we got to chill for just an hour and a half or so, and watch the Church fill up…and a room that size fills up a LOT. Sybel played a great set, to showcase their new disc. Then it was our turn to take the stage. There were maybe 500 people there, and quite a bit of day-glo green!
After some sound issues early in the set, we settled into a good vibe, and were joined by guest vocalist, Mark Sousa from Machine Symphony. Mark is working on a new project now, so keep an eye out!
This was also the début appearance of our new bassist Jason, who we think really adds something special to the show. After the set of course, the libations were many, the DB girls were in fine form (in every sense of the word) and the rest is as they say…history.

This is of course very short notice, but DB has been invited to play at a CD Release party with our label-mates Sybel, who have also just put out a new disc. The shindig will be going down Sunday the 6th…during Labor Day weekend no less! We expect the party to be off the hook, so please come down and join us!

Slick Idiot
Coming to rescue Industrial music fans stranded in a land of complacency are EN ESCH and GUENTER SCHULZ, together as SLICK IDIOT! Formerly core members and co-founders of KMFDM, ESCH and SCHULZ left the groundbreaking industrial powerhouse in 1999 forming their own project. Legends in the Industrial music world, EN ESCH and GUENTER SCHULZ came together in their native Germany in the 1980’s and have worked together ever since.
Plasmacrash
Started at the end of the 2005 Colorado Dark Arts Festival, Plasmacrash was formed by college radio DJ’s Asbestos (then known as Big Tim) and Rivet. The band played with a two person lineup until 2007 when Thick Noose guitarist Chaotic Weevil was brought in to fill in for, and later augment, Rivet while he was deployed overseas with the Army National Guard. The band further filled out it’s linup in 2008 when they added ALH members Joey Gunn and Nic Bastard to the band.
The Siren Project
The Siren Project was formed by Malgorzata,(Margaret) Wacht and Alex Seminara. Together, they lead the listener on a journey wrought with aural pleasures. The Siren Project has opened for national acts such as: Faith and Muse and Rasputina.

So the band has arrived back home, and now we’re decompressing. It occurs to us that people were snapping pictures, and we’d to post some on our sites! If you attended one (or more) of our recent shows and have some pics of the band, or us with fans…please send them in to our MySpace, or put them on a facebook, and let us know where we can see them!

The frying pan we are referring to is Phoenix. The venue was all red and covered with paintings of naked women (points for that) and was a pretty cool little place in general. There wasn’t a sound man that night (lose points for that), but we got it worked out and ran our own sound.
A big shout out goes to A0n and ZinForge for supporting us and also all of the brave, crazy souls that continued to hang out with us into the wee hours of the morning.
The pit in this case could be New Mexico, or perhaps just Carlsbad Caverns, which is just amazing.

The caves go on and on, the ceiling is sometimes hundreds of feet high. It is truly awesome. Now, the less awesome part: Houston is cancelled. We have just learned that the club has been shut down, and won’t be able to find a new venue in time for the show. They will be reopening but not for a while. We are very bummed out, but we will keep in touch with the HavoK folks, and rebook when we can.
